How many trigonometric ratios are defined for an acute angle?

An acute angle has exactly six trigonometric ratios: $\sin$, $\cos$, $\tan$ and their reciprocals $\operatorname{cosec}$, $\sec$, $\cot$. These six exhaust all possible ratios of the three sides taken two at a time.
